Enlighten Encourage Empower Embrace Explode
Good day to you!
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the New Moon will be in phase. This is a time for reflection, release of what no longer serves us, and setting of intentions for the next moon cycle and beyond.
I have been wanting to create a Sisterhood Circle around New and Full Moon observance and ritual for a while now. I am starting October 2.
I'm calling it "Haseya."
Welcome to Haseya Sisterhood Circle of the Northern Neck!
(Haseya, for short. :-)
From Google:
"Haseya" is a word in the Diné language of the Navajo people that means "to rise up" or "she rises". It is also the name of an album by Ajeet Kaur.
The word "Haseya" is used in the context of the album's message of embracing the Divine Feminine and rising from difficult times. The album's songs are a prayer to reconnect with nature and stillness, and to feel a connection with every soul and the Earth. The music is also a call to come together across cultures and divisions to heal the pain that separates us from one another and the earth. "
(Haseya is also the name of a beautiful song by Ajeet, which you can find on YOUTUBE.)
My intention is that this will be a space for women and young women (more on that below) to find friends, mentors, apprentices, wisdom, companionship, and Sisterhood in general.
The Moon is a feminine aspect, while the sun is a masculine aspect. This will be a time for women in our area to meet, connect, and share in celebrating the Divine Feminine.
This is a quiet, UNPLUGGED space, so please leave your phones in your cars or commit to NO SCREEN TIME while you are here.
This New Moon will be held at my and my fiance Jeff's home in Heathsville. Jeff will be present (it's his home,) but not necessarily participating.
It will be an outdoor event, with access indoors for restroom use.
There is currently no rain in the forecast, but we will cancel if it does rain.
I will be keeping this first meet and greet very simple: some simple rituals and music around our fire pit, with lots of time to connect and socialize with each other. At future gatherings, I am envisioning potlucks, movies, poetry shares, tarot, and I'm open to your ideas as well. But for now, KISS (Keep it short and simple!)
If you intend to come, please do the following:
1. RSVP to Donna Pirnat at 540-661-8698, asap. We have limited space, and need to give you an address as well as parking directions. Please leave your full name, phone number, and how you learned of this gathering (as I will be disseminating this information through a couple of routes.)
2. Bring a camp chair, a jacket, pen and paper, a waterbottle (no glass, please,) and a flashlight or small lantern. (The driveway is a long-ish and dark walk to the car after. We cannot park on the driveway...it belongs to the neighbor.) Wear something that makes you feel DIVINE. Like a Goddess. Black, navy blue, white, silver, and gray are all great Moon colors. A maxi dress, or just jeans and a tee-shirt (remember, we're going to be around a fire pit. Jacket or sweater is recommended!) Whatever works for you. No nudity. LOL!
3. If you wish, you can bring candles, crystals, or jewelry that you wish to charge with Moon energy. That charge will enhance your power to manifest your goals and intentions through the month.
4. If you must have your phone on you, it must be on Do Not Disturb/Silenced. This gathering is about enjoying the fire, the sounds of nature, some quiet spiritual music, and conversation with new friends. It is not about surfing the net or screen time. If you must make or accept calls, please go to the road do it.
5. When you RSVP, I will send you a short document to read about New Moon rituals. You can read it to familiarize yourself with the idea, and things that you can choose to do (or not to do) that can enhance your experience from home, beforehand. This is a powerful time for making change in your life, and it's nice to know how to maximize its benefits!
6. This is a clean and sober event. Some women choose to include wine with their Sisterhood Circles. I am friends with many people who have quiet struggles with substance use who have told me that it is difficult for them to find spaces where they can connect with others that are not full of substances and the temptations/encouragement to use them. Out of respect for, and solidarity with, their commitment to sobriety, and with the intention that we come to our spiritual moment with the Moon and with each other clear and real, I choose to serve only iced/hot tea, decaf coffee, water, and hot chocolate. Thanks for respecting that.
7. I would like to be able to include young women in our circle. I think it is important to bring girls up in circles of strong, wise, and supportive women. All guests who are under 18 must be with a responsible woman 18 or over. It is expected that we will be able to bring ourselves fully and authentically to this space, so it is required that all guests understand and abide by these ground rules:
*In my home, I am uncomfortable with anyone under 17 tending the fire, so all guests are expected to respect that boundary. This is not a place for toddlers, infants, or anyone feeling unwell or overtired.
*I also want to keep this space calm and chill, (as opposed to loud and excited,) so that should also be considered when deciding whether to bring your daughter or niece. This is an adult vibe space.
*All participants understand and agree that, in the spirit of confidentiality, what is shared in Circle, stays in Circle. ( No gossiping, please.)
*Tears and Laughter are both welcome. The point of being in Sisterhood is to be able to see each other and be seen as we are, in our authenticity, without need for masks. All of YOU is Welcome.
*This is a non-judgement zone. We are careful with our words. Words are powerful. . We don't judge ourselves or others in the circle. We collectively call each other out when one of us slips into judgmental or abusive tones, towards ourselves or others.
*Glass is not to be taken beyond the deck. The bare feet thank you!
Sisterhood Circle will begin at 7PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, and end by 11, or whenever people need to leave. You can come later than 7 if you come in quietly, but please do not come earlier than 7 PM.
There is no cost for this meeting. Some meetings will require me to purchase supplies, and I may post a fee or a small, suggested "love offering" as some other groups do. But that is not necessary this time.
If you are a man, and are interested in a men's circle, Jeff is considering forming one. You may contact him directly at 908-878-9630. He would be happy to talk with you about that. :-)
